Level 01 - Building the Foundation
Load, Aim, Fire
Building the Foundation is where the Range Arts programs begin — and where the habits that govern every level that follows are formed.
Before any live fire, you'll build a working understanding of how your firearm operates, how to load and unload it correctly, and how to handle it safely under range conditions. The session covers firearm safety law, range commands, handgun anatomy, magazine management — all practiced dry before a round is chambered. Accuracy fundamentals including stance, grip, trigger control, and natural point of aim are introduced and drilled the same way.
Live fire builds progressively: a supervised first shot at close range, recoil familiarization, controlled pairs, and the Bill Drill — six rounds on a silhouette target that serves as your first speed-accuracy benchmark. The goal isn't speed. It's finding the pace at which hits and control are both achievable, and understanding exactly what needs work at Level 2.
Completion of this course authorizes participation in standard range sessions and eligibility for L2 — Run the Gun.
