FSESO Wait Times
As you may know, after successful completing your Canadian Firearms Safety Course you can expect to receive your course report (we also call this ‘your certificate’) from the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO).
Normally this takes up to 4 weeks to arrive by regular mail to you. Currently setbacks due to COVID-19 are causing delays.
FSESO advises the turnaround time is 8 weeks. We’re finding most clients are receiving theirs in about 6 weeks.
If you’re worried, keep in mind 99% of the time these certificates show up to you no problem. If you’re still convinced your certificate got lost in the pipes, you can contact us to ask about follow up.
While you patiently await the certificate, make sure you’re getting a headstart on your RCMP application. There are a few references to collect and a photo to prepare, so don’t wait until you get your certificate to get started. That will just add needless time to your overall licensing timeline, so instead you can get a head start on your paperwork now!
