Where Is My Firearms Safety Course Certificate?

We get contacted a lot by clients unsure when their certificate will show up, and rightly so, since the process is slow and it’s easy to forget about. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Wait for the proof you passed courses before you apply to the RCMP for your licence. It can take about 8 weeks to arrive to you by mail.

  2. FSESO (the folks who certify the course paperwork for Ontario) are running behind schedule this time of year because of COVID lockdowns and holidays. They are working quickly to get you your paperwork but what they do takes time.

  3. At around 8 weeks after your course date (s) you will receive 2 copies for each course you completed. You must attach 1 copy of each to your application before you submit it. Paperwork might arrive separately for each course you took.

  4. If you need guidance on completing the application review our Tips For Your Licence Application.

  5. If you’re convinced your paperwork is lost in the pipes, contact us so we can give you instructions. But give it some time, it shows up 99.9% of the time.

We totally understand you want your paperwork as soon as possible so you can get on with your licence application. The process is twice as fast when not bogged down by the challenges of the global pandemic!
